What's in the works?

What's in the works? Way too many things! Four completely different books in various stages of completion are currently under way, ranging from my normal Christian fiction with a twist of fun supernatural to a sci-fi romance totally unrelated to any of the previously published books.

I've been going back and forth between each book, adding a little here and a little there, but I'm finally focusing in on the sci-fi romance. At the moment it's called Seal it With a Kiss.

What if an advanced society of people existed in a remote area of earth who not only thrived but also kept an eye on the rest of the world, helping out when they could. These people are so attuned to themselves and the world around them that not only can most of them manipulate matter with a thought, a simply kiss joins them to their soulmate for life? Or at least until they're separated by a seemingly unbreakable barrier?

I'm 58,000 words into S(it)WAK and can't wait for the MCs to work out their problems because, oh, yeah, I believe in HEAs (happily ever afters)!

Amazon is Busy Making Changes ...

... and I really like this one!

They've grouped all of the books in a series and added a link to the series on each of the individual book pages. That really makes it convenient, especially for those books that aren't labeled clearly where it's hard to tell what order the books should be read in.

In my case, the only thing I don't love is having Bradley and Nicole listed as first in the series. Amazon won't use half numbers so even though I consider Bradley and Nicole Book 2.5, it's listed as 0 and shows up as the first book to be read. I think the descriptions are clear enough to keep anyone from actually reading that one first though.

What do you think? A nice feature or not really necessary?

The Great Cover Reveal! Cover Number 2

Here is the new cover for The Pledge! I think it looks great with the first cover! What do you think? Is it starting to look like a series again? ; >)

Now, what should the next cover be?

Whew! What Fun!

After a weekend of promotions with Saving Will at $.99 and The Secret free, everything is now back to regular price.

It was fun while it lasted, with The Secret even breaking into the Top 100 Free Books on Amazon.com.

Thanks so much to all of you who purchased them! I hope you'll enjoy reading them.

Another new cover?

Yep! I just ordered a new cover for The Secret with the intention of testing it out to see which cover readers like best. If they like the new cover the best, I'll update the rest of the series to match. Hope I won't be hurting sales by having mismatched covers for a little while!!

What do you think? Does this convey the conspiracy theme of the book better?

Headed back to the editor for line edit.

I've gone through the suggested changes for Saving Will. Again, and again, and again. Today it will be heading back to the editor for line edits. Things like grammar and punctuation. It's getting close to publication! Very exciting!

How far will a mother go when her daughter's life is in danger? As far as it takes.

Rachel Brooks has always considered herself a good person. She's nice and does what she can to help others. She also considers herself a good Christian until she begins to question her very faith when her daughter is in danger. Searching for answers brings her up against other powers in the world besides God. When her path intertwines with with a couple who claim to have powers of their own, she's tempted to use those powers to keep her daughter safe. Will she give in or will she trust that God will make a way even when she can't see it?

Please note: Saving Will can be read on its own, but it has characters from The Scinegue Series in it as well. Reading the Scinegue Series either before or after Saving Will, will make the story just that much more complete.

And ...it's with the editor!

Saving Will is undergoing developmental editing at the moment. I should get it back tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to adding this feedback to the feedback from the beta-readers. I would like to get Saving Will finished up and back to the editor for a line edit this month!

Feedback on new WIP

I've been getting some very helpful feedback on Saving Will from my Beta Readers! It's getting better and better!

And another possible version, perhaps hinting at the magical realism aspects.

Current WIP is with Beta Readers

Saving Will is with Beta Readers!

I have a couple of new volunteers for this book, and I can't wait to get their feedback. My first and most loyal beta readers are my parents which is actually pretty funny because neither of them usually enjoy reading. They claim to love my books though, and as quickly as they read them I think they might be telling the truth! They are great at catching errors that I've overlooked 100 times, and my mom and I have some good laughs at some of the funny things I accidentally write.

Once I get feedback from all the beta readers, I'll make some changes and corrections and then it is off to an editor!

On to the next book!

(Just for fun, here is a peek at the simple DIY cover I'm using for my own purposes until I have one designed.)

Find and replace all ... Don't do it. Just don't do it!

Note: Never do a "Find and replace ALL" on the word Lance. Ughhh!! I changed a name from Lance to Philip in my WIP. Now I have words like baPhilip, ambuPhilip, gPhilip, vigiPhilip. (Just replace "Philip" with "lance" in the previous words to see what they should be.) So now, thanks to my brilliant idea, instead of editing I'm on a "Find" hunt for any forms of the word lance ...— feeling crazy.

Edit: Oh, and now I've realized I used the name Philip earlier in the story so I have to change it again!!

The Secret

What if there was a corporation fully focused on improving quality of life for all people through healthy foods, education, and technological advancements? What if a sub-set of the corporation had the exact same goals but a more nefarious way of achieving them? Would you make the cut? Or would you be on the purge list?

Billy and Sarah Roth are drawn into just such a company, but only one of them is safe from the purge list. It will take a miracle to save them both. Will they get it?

What Do You Think Of "Billy and Sarah"?

It's so fun designing covers. It's also extremely hard. I have a very clear idea of what Billy and Sarah look like, BUT it was impossible to find models that fit my images.

I think this Billy is close with his short hair. I would have like a 'blonder' Sarah. What do you think? Are these two close to your pictures of Billy and Sarah? What do you think would be different about the characters from the book?

Top Ten Indie Books of 2014

The Secret was named a top ten Indie book of 2014 by Lia London. What a surprise, and what an honor!

Lia London is an author and the owner and founder of the Clean Indies Reads website and Facebook group. She had the idea to list books that are considered 'clean' by most standards to make them easy to find. Mostly 'clean' means no vulgar language, gory implicit scenes, or implicit sex. It doesn't mean boring! If you haven't seen the site yet check it out! You might just find your next read there.
